Christmas Ornament Tutorial

“Look at these old canning jar seals. They look like Christmas ornaments.”  That’s what started this project and now that there are done, I’d like to share how I made them.

Materials you’ll need: new or old canning jar seals, red ticking material, miniature trees, jute, and a hot glue gun.

First tear your material into a strip about an inch wide.

Next, secure the strip to the seal with hot glue.

Now, wrap the material around the seal.

Secure  the end with glue. Cut jute to about 24 inches, fold in half and tie a knot about 2 inches down.

Glue jute to the ornament.

Take one strand and begin to wrap around the seal, gluing to secure it in place. Trim jute as needed.

Do the same with the other strand.

Put a dab of glue on the bottom of the Christmas tree and secure to ornament.

And there you have it! Of course other material and objects could be used to create a totally different look. Hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
