Lately, I’ve had a few wedding orders for a variety of projects. They have been super fun! I LOVE working with brides! So, I thought it was time for a post of some of those projects.

First off the flowers.My latest bride wanted her groom to be special so he gets a vintage music boutonniere and the groomsmen get vintage book boutonnieres.The moms and grandmas get these pretty brooch corsages.Another wedding had these yummy yellow flowers.

I am in love with the idea of these hangers. This bride wants her photo of the dresses hanging to be special. It also makes a great gift for the bridesmaids.How about a vintage guest book?Then there the decorations. These were at my son’s wedding so they were extra special to make.I’ve been so inspired I think I may try my hand at more. Nothing is more special than a wedding. Well, maybe the babies coming. Hmmmm. A whole new project set to think about.

Repurposing Old Windows

There’s something special about old windows. They have such character and are a great starting point for a project. Here’s a few of the ones I’ve repurposed.Even if the glass is broken they are great to use. I make lots of chalk boards with them.When they are sectioned you can do some fun stuff.And if you can’t decide, do both!I love doing special orders for weddings!The Holidays are a great time to use old windows!So you’ll see me jumping for joy whenever I run across some great old windows on the curb. Broken glass, old chalking, rusty nails – it all just makes them more interesting!

Yellow & Gray

I feel in love with this color combination! With inspiration from the Polka Dot Chair, I made this wreath with paper from Rhonna Farrar.I simply printed the paper on my computer using copy paper. I reloaded the paper and printed the other side of each with a coordinating paper. Using a straw wreath and staple gun it was done in no time.I chose to hang this little piece from the back so it dangles down. Since I never like to throw paper away, I made a set of cards with the left overs.Here’s some closeups of each card.

Back in 2007 I ventured to make our bedding for a makeover. I can happily say that I still love it. The materials were a beautiful mix. Well I had left over fabric and I NEVER throw away fabric. So, when I decided to make myself a purse of coordinating fabric it was a simple choice.I was so proud of it when I finished that I showed my husband to see what he thought. His exact words… “It’s our bed!”Okay, so I see his point. But I still love it! I never make something just for myself anymore. Besides no one will ever know unless they read this post.

I Love Variety!

One of the things I love about making cards is the variety and uniqueness of each one. It is my usual working mode to select some coordinating papers and make 4 or more cards out of it. YET, each is different. My last post was the same but with dramatically different paper. So yes, they are in some ways a “set” but each it’s own personality

New Year’s Resolutions: use it!

One of my New Year’s resolutions is to use some of my existing stash. Trust me, I have a lot of paper and craft supplies. Sometimes I feel like a hoarder! Well, I loved this Graphics 45 paper when I purchased it ages ago and I still think it is beautiful! Here are some cards created with this lovely botanical theme.

Another resolution is to use my camera and use it well! While I love having the handiness of the iPhone. I really want to utilize the wonderful camera I have. I need to learn so much that it can be daunting. But you have to start somewhere. So, last night I opened up the ol’ manual and today found some good sunlight for my photo shoot.This was the first time in a long while it wasn’t set on auto mode with the flash. It’s a start!

Let the tour beginWe recently converted our dining room into a sitting room. It’s a cozy space to enjoy a cup of tea.This shelf has seen many years in our home. It was first a toy shelf built by my Dad for our girls stuffed animals.We converted my Mom’s old buffet into two separate pieces. This book shelf was the top part painted and turned upside down! Here’s the top all decorated.More pieces in the sitting room include two old dressers.Close up details….And a view into the living room from here I’ll put a tour up of the kitchen and living room in the next post. Until then stay warm and cozy.
